This unit is manned by four mortuary attendants. There exist two mortuary plants; one with a capacity of 9 fridges and the other with a capacity of 6. In reality, this service is taking more than its capacity because it is the lone mortuary plant in the Limbe municipality. In addition to storing corpses, this service also serves as an area for carrying out autopsies (i.e examining of corpses to find the cause of death). Beside this mortuary is a mourner’s hall equipped with an office for the chaplain and benches that can harbor close to 200 persons during brief funeral services (Mise en bière). This service is open 24/24.

On Sundays, Chaplains posted to the hospital carry out routine church service; the Presbyterian Church service begins at 7:00 a.m. while the Catholic mass begins at 11:00 a.m. This has been very useful for some patients and carers who can worship God while in the hospital premises.
