The Director’s Message

Ladies and gentlemen,

Dear Internet users,

It is with great honour and delight for me on behalf of the staff of the Regional Hospital Limbe to present this address to you all. You are all welcome to this government health facility through this forum that was created in 1940. It is a tertiary health care institution and reference hospital of the South-west region of Cameroon with a 200 bed capacity.

Its mission is:
  • To offer the best quality of care to patients at an affordable cost.
  • To offer pedagogic support to training institutions of health personnel in the community
  • To carry out operational research within the context to improving patient welfare
  • To co-operate and collaborate with other health institutions
Our vision is focused on assisting the population of South-west Region and beyond to attain the highest possible level of quality health care at the cost that is affordable, working as devoted teams, inspired by love and respect for patients.

The hospital is located in the city of Limbe (the town of friendship). Given that the city is a gate-way to go to many countries around the world, the hospital is faced with the challenge of offering quality health care to a wide range of users.

It is staffed with 242personnel, amongst them 28 medical specialists with diverse specialties such as; Cardiology, Internal medicine,Urology, Orthopedics, Radiology, Paediatrics, Orthorhino-larryngology or ENT, Dentistry, Ophthalmology,  Medical-Biology, Anaesthesiology/Reanimation, Pharmacy, Endocriminology/Diabetology, Pneumology, 10 General practitioners and varied specialized paramedical staff.
The limbe regional hospital is poised to take care of the health needs of the population of Limbe, it’s environ and the world at large.
Community participation in healthcare delivery has been our driving force. It is in this light that the technical staff have been working hand-in-gloves with community representatives. The government Delegate of the Limbe city council who sits as the chairman of the hospital management committee has been very instrumental in upgrading our health facility so as to provide quality health care to the population. The World Bank’s performance based financing (PBF) programme which promotes quality, autonomy and equity in healthcare is being implemented in our health facility since July 2016, the fallouts of which we are enjoying today.

Elected staff delegates have been very active in relaying the entire staff with the hospital administration under the umbrella of our social group named RHOSA (Regional Hospital Staff Association) that has as motto ‘Quality health care’.
In the most recent past, continues innovation has placed the hospital in a better competitive advantage given that some of her services are equipped with the state of art equipment.
To appreciate the load of service delivery, here presented is a synthesis of activities done.
